One creative thing - Part 20

Today's creative thing: Letters of the alphabet.

I wanted to paint words, but I couldn't decide which words, so in the spirit of doing rather than endlessly thinking, I started with the first several letters of the alphabet. So much fun. Definitely more letters to come.

On the journal front, a batch of new pages is slowly coming together. And new ideas, too. Can't wait to share.

Prompt writing

I've been writing prompts this morning. Lightning round questions are the most fun to dream up. I love how silly they can be. Lovely or lively? An itch or a tickle? Bongos or castanets? Those are a few from today's wonderings.

Other prompts require deeper reflection though. Sometimes, like today, the thought process is tinged with a sense of . . . I don't know. It's sadness, I think. Do we talk enough about how very difficult journaling can be? To try to be completely honest with ourselves. To try to put into words the parts that hurt. For me, writing the prompts first offers a small sense of perspective - that there is good along with the bad.

One creative thing - Day 19

Today's creative thing: Rectangles and squares.

I've been writing prompts and lightning rounds. Words and phrases and queries and conundrums are swirling before my mind's eye. I felt like I needed an abstract image today. It was quite nice, typing away while I waited for each layer to dry. Blue is such a cool, calm and collected colour, don't you think?

One creative thing - Day 17

Today's creative thing: A little flower.

Not much time for painting today, so I used a little scrap of leftover paper and painted a tiny detail from a photograph that I took of this plant a few years ago.

Lots of learning left to do, but one creative thing at a time, right?
