Thinking about stuff and a new journal page

~~~
As I get older, I find myself thinking more and talking less.  I've been thinking about that a lot lately (see?), about how I've become the world's most boring lunch date and party guest.
It's a tough one.  Deep down I know the reasons; many of them are neurotic, but some stem from the recognition that I still have a great deal to learn about life; that I want to be more sensitive about how I communicate my opinions; and that so many controversial, fun-to-debate issues can't be distilled into a simple right or wrong and most of the time I prefer to go at them on a case-by-case basis rather than choosing a side.
Writing, for me, is a wonderfully cathartic way to sort out all of those thoughts, especially when I'm not quite ready to talk about them just yet.
That's what I was thinking about when I started working on today's journal page, which gives you the space to write about a few of the things you might not be ready to discuss . . .
There's also a place to record your goodness and your strangeness . . .
The whole page looks like this:
It's available in all its usual forms here (the border-free version) and here (the colour-it-yourself version) and here (the already-coloured version.)
Happy Friday friends!
  2. Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr. said: "Insanity is often the logic of an accurate mind overtasked. Good mental machinery ought to break its own wheels and levers, if anything is thrust among them suddenly which tends to stop them or reverse their motion. A weak mind does not accumulate force enough to hurt itself; stupidity often saves a man from going mad."
    Something else to ponder while we are overtasked some days. ;o)
  4. I found your blog several days ago through One Pretty Thing, and I love these journal pages!! So fun and creative, and much better than a boring-old journal (which I have, but it's so hard to write in it).
    I plan to start these soon. Please keep on posting! ^_^
  5. I'm totally in love with these journal pages. I saved all of them, and I will print and fill. Less than a month from my birthday, I'm thinking in make five copies of all the pages, fill one of each this month and fill the others in the next years, to compare my changes.
    Thanks for the work thinking and making the journal pages.
  7. this is a very deep post and I love it!
    thank you for sharing genuinely of yourself.
    I have so many 'thinks' inside that I am not yet ready to talk about.
    I will be printing out this page for sure. As usual I love the lightning round (which I still think of as 'lightening" - to lighten - because it does!).
    Thank you again for including a black and white, colour-your-own version.
  8. Can I just say-- I love you? I just went and looked through (and printed off) all of your journal pages. This is exactly what I've needed and wished I had and didn't know existed. Journaling is always so difficult for me, I never know what to say or where to begin. I love that you have provided these fill in the blank pages - they give me things to think about and write about and motivate me to want to record my life. I love how they are each unique and how artful and creative they are. You are just great, and I hope you will continue making these for a long time. I so appreciate what you are doing. Thank you thank you!
