Working on a new journal page today. It should be ready to post late tomorrow, but in the meantime I thought I'd share a few photos of other stuff in progress around here.
This, below, is the beginning of my fourth watercolour painting ever. Actually, my fourth painting of any kind ever, if you don't count fingerpainting and paint by numbers. My mom's picture is there too at the top of the frame. That day, we were sketching (read: tracing) and applying masking fluid to our flowers to keep their edges crisp while we painted our backgrounds.
Those two, below, are unfinished third painting ever and unfinished fourth painting ever. I still have a long way to go and these particular efforts are truly evidence of that fact, but it's been really satisfying (and at times, incredibly frustrating) to try something new, something outside my comfort zone.
Finally, this one below -- a scarf with pretty tassels -- is almost done. Just a few rows left and then I'm boxing it up and sending it out, with love . . .
What projects are you working on these days?
I love those paintings! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm working on making stuff for my first ever craft show! It's next weekend so the end is near. :)
Great job on the watercolors...I'd love to see more as you create them!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful paintings and scarf! Playing I spy, I see you are left handed, so just remember, you are always in your right mind. ;-)
ReplyDeleteProjects this week include becoming better acquainted with the hot glue gun and repurposing things we've got around the house. Works out well with Earth Day this week.
Christie, you should be proud -- these are wonderful! I'm particularly drawn to your watercolor #3. It is SO hard to push outside your comfort zone (well, for me it is!), so applause from me :)
ReplyDeletewow Christie!
ReplyDeleteI am so blown away that these paintings, of yours, are done by a 'beginner'!
they are amazing!
I'm so happy to read that you are still enjoying watercolours and I really look forward to seeing pieces - done or in progress as you feel like sharing them!
... and the scarf is beautiful :)
I love your paintings and I am amazed at how far you have gotten already - thumbs up! I like #2, because it reminds me of spring time and a lovely day in May. As for my own projects, I am not really getting very far (if anywhere) these days. I started to make ATCs for a fundraiser organized by a Japanes blogger, but I find it more difficult than I thought it would. About a week ago I was in a car crash and have not done anything for this project due to other pressing issues. Now I feel like I am letting her down. Well, sometimes things just do not work the way we had planned, but this is hard for me to accept.
