Monday Links: What do you collect?
Are you a collector? Until today, I would have said that I am not. I've never seen myself as someone who collects items related to a theme. My youngest daughter, by comparison, is obsessed with owls. She has amassed quite a large collection of owl-related items including owl softies, a wide variety of clothing and accessories with owl graphics and motifs, a growing library of books about owls, and even several owl pellets. (Eww.)
Recently, however, I've found myself drawn to photos of other people's collections and I thought it might be fun to share a few links with you. To accompany the post, I set to work to see if I could create a collection of my own.
In my collection below, there are all sorts of things related to my creative adventures. There are paints and markers, yarns and threads, clips and pushpins, my little booklet of confidence, and some of my experiments with watercolour, paper embroidery, and crochet.
After some thought, I've decide that I am a bit of a collector. I collect colourful art supplies so that I'll have lots of opportunities to create colourful things -- all of which make me happy. Neat!
Here are five links to wonderfully imaginative collections to inspire you this week:
* Emily Blincoe's arrangements,
* Fiona Watson's unwritten book,
* Lisa Congdon's daily collections,
* Hanna Nyman's botanical paper compositions, and
* Ann Wood's drawers.
Tell me, what do you collect?

Monday Links
Hello, fellow journalers!
What are you up to this week? What sorts of creative adventures are you planning?
Me, I've become a little obsessed with stitching on paper. I'm really enjoying the rhythm of the stitches, the challenge of working with different papers in new ways, and the thrill of experimenting without using words. My most recent stitches started off as scribbles, but they also look like florets from some angles, which I did not expect. Who knows where it will lead?
Here are a few links to inspire your own creative adventures this week:
* the meticulously patterned sketchbook of Angela Chan,
* the delightful and insightful daily illustrations of Mari Andrew,
* this awesomely doodled printable colouring page by Alisa Burke,
* these colourful art journal spreads by Megan at Baltering Life, and
* these lively letters and notes from Callie Hegstrom.
Happy Monday, friends!

Prompt-a-Day Journal Pages for the week of September 12-18
Hello fellow journalers!
Next week's prompt-a-day journal pages are all ready to go and I'm thrilled to share them with you.
They include a new lightning round, a non sequitur edition this time, which was such fun to write. You might find the combinations to be a little odd, but I hope they'll take your thoughts in new directions. There's even a chance to create a couple of non sequitur pairs of your own! (And if you're up for it, let me know what you come up with and I'll tell you my choices.)
The prompts are similarly wide in scope, from your to-do list on Monday, to your personal strengths on Wednesday, to world events on Friday. All are opportunities to bring unique parts of yourself to your journal and to reflect on the choices you make every day. As always, I hope you'll find new and exciting insights in your journal.

Prompt-a-day Journal Pages
A journal is many things. It is a keepsake, a source of inspiration, a repository of wisdom and hard won experience, a record of growth and development, and -- for me this key -- a tool for positive action.
Over time, my approach to writing journal prompts has evolved, I hope, to encompass each of these things -- along with a few surprises here and there when the mood strikes! Journaling has been, and continues to be, a tremendously useful tool for my own growth and development and, as always, I'm eager to share my thoughts and journal prompts with you.
It's been a while since I've written regularly in this space and I'd like to spend more time here. So, for the next several weeks, to give myself a new writing challenge and to give you an opportunity to visit and share your thoughts on journaling, I'll be posting a series of prompt-a-day printable journal pages.
Each week I'll upload a file with two letter-sized pages, which will
include one prompt per day plus a bonus -- I'm thinking that's where most
of my lightning rounds will end up! I'm a day late to begin this week,
but upcoming sets will be posted on the Friday preceding the week ahead. Let's try it out for the month of September and see how it goes! Let me know what you think, so I can tweak as we go.
